MovieBox is an Excellent Product
We have a 10-year-old video camera which cost £1000 and still works fine but when I bought a new laptop recently, as with virtually all Windows laptops these days, it did not have a Firewire port. There are cheap Firewire/USB adaptor cables advertised on the internet, but all the reports I read about these said that they were useless. The only solution I could find, other than buying a new video camera, was the Pinnacle MovieBox. The product was duly delivered on the appointed date. As a test, I plugged the camera into the MovieBox Firewire-in port and connected the MovieBox USB-out port to my laptop USB connection - the cables to do this were provided with the MovieBox. I then captured 5 minutes of video quite quickly without any dropped frames using Microsoft MovieMaker - the MovieBox came with Pinnacle Studio version 14 but I didn't bother to install that because I am quite happy using MovieMaker which I am used to. The MovieBox also has several other ports that enable you to capture video from VHS etc, which I don't need but could be useful for some people. I am very pleased with the product, especially as it worked first-time, straight out of the box, without any problems.

moviebox hd delighted
upgrading from vista to windows 7 my moviebox by porshe & movie dazzle no longer worked, so hd moviebox purchased, i had looked at other reviews all said they recieved version 14,it arrived with dvd version 15, so dvd surplus to requirments, i had already got version 15 well packaged, plugged in, up and running in no time, six (6) hours of editing later i had everything for a movie although high priced the best you could have, no need to look further.

i will give this product 5 stars because it works really well,but i am a bit disapointed in the fact that it says the software is v15 on the box, but it's v14 you get instead, and also the plug-in cd was missing,but it still does what it say's on the tin, as the saying go's

excellent bit of kit
its an excellent bit of kit, comes with the cables needed, software user friendly and loads of fancy features,takes minutes to set up and get working, only used it for copying my home videos off a minidv camcorder tapecouldn't find any other way that produced the high quality i wanted from my tapes,highly recorded if you need a fire-wire port on your new laptop
